Marriage Matters

In May 2011, the Minnesota State Legislature voted to put an amendment on the 2012 ballot that will read: “Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to provide that only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as marriage in Minnesota?”

This was, to me, extraordinarily cruel. It's so incredibly repulsive that any society would allow our freedoms to be put to a vote by our neighbors. It made my heart hurt, and I want to do something about it.

I'm a runner. I run if I'm happy, stressed, when I have too much energy or too little. I’ve run in ice and subzero temperatures, and in heat indexes of 105. But, all this time, I'd run for myself. Now, I want to run for something else.

This isn't about religion or politics. It's about civil rights.

I’m not gay. I’m not even really in the theatre community. I’m just a person who believes in Broadway Impact, the Theatre, and in Equality.
