FINANCIAL LOGISTICS
It should be pointed out that with everything but the Audience Appeals, personal checks are the best way to collect money (also the best way for people to have a record for tax purposes). Keep in mind, though, that it may take several weeks for the checks you collect to be processed. If this presents a problem, Postal Money Orders are the next best thing. It is never a good idea to send cash through the mail, but it can always be collected on the spot; most schools will prefer to deposit the money into a school account and issue a school check for the entire amount. This is always acceptable; simply have your selected official make the check payable to BC/EFA. Or again, you can purchase a Money Order for the same amount, and keep the receipt for your records. (Either way works well for cash collected during Audience Appeals).
These are just a few examples of the various ways schools are raising money for BC/EFA across the country. Follow one or more of these suggestions, or be creative. (How about a Bowling Night? A Car Wash? A Softball Game?) If you think of something fun to do that's not on this list, let us know! We'd love to hear about it!
The important thing here is that you are doing something. And, in doing so, you are raising awareness, in addition to helping people whose lives have been affected by HIV and/or AIDS. All it takes is one person to get the ball rolling; how lucky we are to have found you!
Good Luck in your endeavors, and please - don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have… What We Do Together Makes A Difference!
