Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is proud to announce the launch of “The Broadway Challenge,” a new and unique app for theater trivia that made its debut this past September at The 24th Annual Broadway Flea Market. The app, which was created by Dramatic Forces, functions on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices and is available on the iTunes store for $2.99 per download with a portion of each sale benefiting BC/EFA.
The Broadway Challenge is a must have app for every theatre fan. It’s a multi-layered, multi game, all theatre trivia immersion with gorgeous graphics and sound effects. Play against yourself, your friends, the rest of the world. With 10 challenge games, eight unique question categories, and over 4000 original questions, players can go non-stop for an entire Broadway season and still not hit every question. The Broadway Challenge App will be updated with special new Trivia packages throughout the year.

“This is a first of its kind Broadway app,” says Dori Berinstein, creator of “The Broadway Challenge.” “It’s our hope that our app will bring theatre fans of all ages together and introduce Broadway to new audiences.
At the Flea Market, members of the Broadway community stopped by to play “The Broadway Challenge,” including Andrea McArdle, Ann Harada and Broadway personality, musical guru and performer Seth Rudetsky. After hours of going head-to-head with visitors to “The Broadway Challenge” table, John Tartaglia explained, “I have become a ‘Broadway Challenge’ addict! Last night, I was up until three in the morning and the last thing I remember is a question about Flora, the Red Menace. But beyond this amazing app created just for people like me who are true Broadway lovers, it helps support Broadway Cares! As Liz Callaway sang in Baby, ‘What could be better?’”

Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League, explained, “While there seems to be an endless supply of captivating Broadway trivia, ‘The Broadway Challenge’ offers an opportunity for more and more people to be connected to Broadway, past and present, and have fun while doing it no matter your location – all the while supporting a great cause.”
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Dori Berinstein and Dramatic Forces on the launch of The Broadway Challenge app” says BC/EFA Executive Director Tom Viola. “It’s a wonderfully interactive way to hone and show-off all you know about Broadway “and environs`” (as Carol Channing would say!) while supporting BC/EFA. Next to take-out at “the local Chinese,” it’s the most frequently poked app on my iPhone!”
